Hope Chest Thrift Stores

Picture
The Hope Chest Thrift Stores continue to thrive throughout our community while providing much-needed support for Community Hospice & Health Services programs and services. With seven locations throughout the Central Valley, the Hope Chest Thrift Stores are grateful to be part of such a giving community. Donations continue to be in high demand. Our stores are in need of gently used clothing, housewares, jewelry, books, linens, shoes, and other household items such as furniture, men’s clothing, and kitchenware. The Hope Chest Thrift Store staff are abundantly proud that the proceeds generated are used to support the patients, families, and programs offered by CHHS.

Our Online Hope Chest Thrift Store, launched just over a year ago, and continues to grow and offer a huge list of fun and fascinating treasures for local pickup and shipping throughout the continental United States. This new store offers the luxury of thrifting from your own home.

In 2024, our seven Hope Chest Thrift Stores generated $6,337,597 in gross sales; which, while a minor increase over 2023, was an amazing task and we are extremely proud. Just over 4% of the gross revenues in 2024 came from our recycling program.

The Hope Chest Thrift Store staff work tirelessly to not only operate our seven locations but to also recycle as many unsellable items as possible. This effort helps to raise additional funds to support the CHHS mission and also assists with keeping unnecessary items out of our local landfills.

In 2024, items that were deemed unsellable consisted of over 13,778 pounds of E-Waste, 1,444,784 pounds of unsellable clothing & linens, 151,422 pounds of books, 5,378 pounds of shoes, and 109,270 pounds of cardboard which were recycled through our Logistics Center. These initiatives continue to divert items from local area landfills, lowering our high disposal costs and generating additional revenue to support CHHS.
